Made to Crave



First of all this book has rocked my world. Thank you to my sweet friends who told me to read this book. I could not put this book down, it totally grabbed my heart. One of my biggest struggles has always been my weight.
Reading this book has made me more aware of how much I Crave food, instead of Craving the Lord... And I want to CRAVE the Lord more than anything! She backs this book up with several different scriptures and stories of the bible that came alive to me as I read them.
I have really become more aware of what I am my eating more seriously and not just eating when Im stressed or bored.
Lysa has written a 60 day devotional book, I have ordered it but haven't started it yet!! Check out her webpage she has a 21 day challenge where she will send you a daily email!

Today at church Dr. Graham was teaching on Luke 1 the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth. They waited on the Lord and were both so faithful as they waited on him. They prayed for years for a child, and God answered their PRAYER! Dr. Graham challenged us to keep PRAYING, ASKING the Lord whether it be a Mate, a child, a job...and he will Answer it in his time.

The Lord wants us to Pray to him Continuously, and I have to admit this is an area of my life I have not prayed over and over about. But I am going to put this acronym where I can see it throughout my day and Truly Pray for the Mate that got has for me.

Sunday Scripture Memory

Good Morning!! We have started a scripture group and we are learning the weekly scripture together, if you would like to join this group please let me know!

Last week I started reading a book called Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst which is rocking my world! (Blog will be on that tomorrow) One of the verses Lysa shared this week really captured my heart, so this weeks verse is:
Lamentations 3:23-24
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, "The Lord is MY portion, therefore I will wait for him.

The Countdown

This upcoming year has started and I have started counting down the months until I get to go to Jamaica on a Mission Trip. I can not even begin to tell you of how God orchestrated me to go on this trip and how so far he has opened every door.

For over 2 years I have wanted to go on another mission trip, but every time one came up, I did not have a peace about it. Then my precious friend and coworker Julie asked me if I wanted to go with her to Teach with Jamaica. The Lord was beating on my heart to say YES! YES! I couldn't do it quick enough. One of my biggest pleasures and loves is getting to teach teachers how to teach. Well, on the 3rd week of July, I am going with a team of teachers to teach the Jamaica teachers lessons for their children. But before we get started with our 3 day conference, we get to spend 2 days with children(the state and a private orphanages).

The planning has started in full swing, and I could not be more EXCITED!
Our team would love your prayers as we prepare for this trip, that the Lord would take care of every detail from:
the financial part that I have to raise
for donations to be able to take different supplies
airfare
cost of bags for our luggage-which we will take 2 bags filled with supplies(We are flying with American)
For each sub team as they prepare what lessons to teach

The Situation

Have you ever been told by someone that something was going to happen and then it did not. Well recently this happened to me! I can not even begin to tell you how disappointed I was that it fell through. But here is the cool part of the STORY, as I have been MEMORIZING Deut 31:8,

And The LORD is the ONE who goes Before You, He will be with you! He will not fail or forsake You. Do not fear or be dismayed!

As I was memorizing this verse, the Lord stopped me in my tracks and reminded me of the Situation, and I had to ask Forgivenesss for being so Disappointed because This Situation, turned out even better than I could imagine. Thank you God for knowing BEST and having the PLAN all mapped out for me.

How to Memorize Scripture

Ive had several friends ask me how I memorize scripture, so I thought today I would just share with you!

I write it on several note cards, one by my bed, another for my purse, one to stick on my memory in my bathroom, and then one for my desk at work. I want to see the verse throughout the day.

As I begin my time alone with the Lord, I start by writing the verse in my journal. Then I just pray over the verse asking the Lord to make it come alive and let it just stick to my heart.

In the past I have had a spiral of scripture cards on a ringso throughout the year I can glance back at it. This year I am keeping up with a spreadsheet of the verses I memorize.

Every day for the week I asked the Lord to show me something new about the verse, and I just meditate over the verse. What does meditate mean? That I just sit still in the presence before the Lord and let him speak to me. In the quietness and stillness before the Lord he has so many things for us to share with us if we take the time to listen.

Also when I workout I take the verse with me, as I continue to memorize it. I would love to hear how you memorize your scripture!!

Hello 2012!! What a way to kick off the year by starting on a Sunday with a verse to Memorize:

Deut 31:8
And the Lord is the ONE who goes ahead of you. He will be with you! He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed!

Wow is this a Powerful verse! What a way to start out the year with this verse! God has already gone before us and has the PERFECT plan for alives if we will be obedient and just surrender to him.
